Women’s Rights

Can someone tell me what this #womensmarch was all about?

Was it about the 100,000 young girls murdered in the UK last year – by their own mothers? Because that would be worth taking to the streets about.

Was it about the 5,700 reported cases of illegal FGM committed on British girls but with zero prosecutions? Because that’d be worth taking to the streets about.

Was it about the illegal practice of sex-selective abortion where baby girls are murdered simply for being girls but where zero people have been prosecuted (in fact the woman who exposed them is being hounded by the courts instead)?  Because that’d be worth taking to the streets about.

Was it about the 100’s – possibly 1000’s – of young, vulnerable girls who were deliberately groomed for sexual abuse over decades, targeted by the colour of their skin and then had their plight deliberately ignored by the authorities?  Because that’d be worth taking to the streets about.

Was it about the abhorrent treatment of the hundreds of millions of women living under Sharia law around the world, where they are murdered for ‘shaming’ their families, beaten & imprisoned for being raped, traded as chattel, imprisoned in homes or under dehumanising garments?  Because that would be worth taking to the streets about.

Was it about the hyper-sexualisation of women in pop culture or the tsunami of pornography? Because that would be worth taking to the streets about.

Or was it because 1 woman – a power-hungry, corrupt, untruthful, career politician woman – didn’t convince enough people (including 30 million women) to vote for her simply because she was a woman.

Just asking for a friend.
